MILWAUKEE – Rockwell Automation will close plants in Dublin, GA, and Sumner, IA, next year and lay off more than 300 workers, the company said.

The company will move those sites programs to other plants in Wisconsin, Iowa and Mexico. It did not disclose the estimated annual savings.

First to go will be the Georgia site, scheduled to close by July 2010. It builds PCB assemblies and other products. The Iowa plant will be shuttered by the end of 2010, the company said.

Georgia currently employs 145 workers, Iowa 163 workers. Both sites were notified this week.
