ARLINGTON, VA -- "The worldwide components market appears to be steadying and poised for modest growth beginning in the fall/early winter time frame."
That's the latest assessment from the Electronic Components Association. The trade group's monthly data suggest worldwide orders leveled out in July, with year-over-year results are converging with the 12-month average, the ECA said, based on data from component manufacturers.
"A combination of better tracking systems and lessons learned from the past have helped manufacturers strike a good balance between supply and demand," said ECA president Bob Willis.
The convergence of the year-over-year results with the 12-month average indicates that manufacturers have a good barometer on where the market is going, Willis said.
