METHUEN, MA -- Electronics manufacturing services provider Suntron is consolidating its northeastern US operations in a larger facility here, north of Boston.
As part of the transition, the company will shutter its factories in Manchester, NH, and Lawrence, MA. TheManchester site was 17,000 sq. ft., while the Lawrence plant was 23,000 sq. ft., according to the 2010 CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Directory of EMS Companies.

The larger facility will allow for additional production capacity and the addition of RoHS compliant services.

"The move to combine our northeast services under a single roof clearly demonstrates Suntron's commitment to the region and to our customers," said Roger White, VP and general manager of the Eastern region. "We have expanded our box-build manufacturing footprint and, with significant capital investment, are expanding our circuit card capacity and capabilities."

The facility is set to open at the end of the second quarter.

Suntron, which just closed its plant in Newburg, OR, maintains operations in Phoenix, Sugar Land, TX, and Tijuana, Mexico.
