TOKYO -- Japanese manufacturers of electronics equipment and components reported July sales rose 11.5% year-over-year to 1.28 trillion yen.
Year-to-date sales were up 20.3% year-over-year through July, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said.
Among end-products, instrumentation sales led the way, up well over 40%. Communications equipment was down 3.1% overall, with telecom gear dropping 6.4% for the month, METI said. Consumer products were up 11%.
Discrete semiconductors and connectors were both up more than 20% for the month. Overall, components were up 12%.
