GLENVIEW, IL -- Illinois Tool Works' Power Systems and Electronics business unit reported sales rose 17% year-over-year in the second quarter.

The conglomerate reported overall operating revenue increased 17% over last year for the three months ended July 31. Organic or base revenues made up six percentage points of the total revenue growth, while acquisitions and currency translation added four points and seven points, respectively.

Power Systems and Electronics includes SMT equipments OEM Speedline Technologies and Vitronics-Soltec and solder supplier Kester, among others.

ITW guided for third-quarter revenue growth of 15% to 18%, and full-year growth of 16% to 18%.
