NINGBO, CHINA -- Kitron Electronics Manufacturing officially opened its factory here, with more than 100 customers and business partners attending the ceremony.

The contract electronics assembler plans to build PCBs for the medical, industrial, energy, marine and telecom industries. The site will focus on electronics manufacturing services for existing and new customers in Asia markets, and as an low-cost alternative to Kitron's operations in Norway, Sweden, Lithuania and Germany.<

Yvonne Wenzel will oversee the site as Kitron's general manager in China.

A municipality of more than 3 million people, Ningo dates to nearly 5,000 BC. It is situated on the Eastern seaboard of Central China.
