CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- In the wake of the now-defunct Millennium Electronics, a new EMS provider has sprung up here in the north Chicago suburbs.

The founders, former Millennium director of manufacturing operations Troy Richert and colleague Mike Walker, have picked up where Millennium left off -- literally -- buying its equipment from auction and launching RW Technologies.

The new company hopes to hire the former Millennium employees and has been awarded a $10,000 matching grant from the local government to help with startup costs.

RW has set a goal of $1 million in revenue within 12 months.

Millennium closed in August after 16 years in business.
