HONG KONG -- Surface Mount Technology (Holdings) Ltd. today announced the pending resignation of its deputy chairman and managing director.

Effective July 1, Dr. Lo Wai Kwok will leave the electronics manufacturing services company to pursue personal interests.

SMT Holdings has been in a financial freefall, and has laid off more than 20% of its workforce and is selling factories in hopes of turning the company around.
