ZALAEGERSZEG, HUNGARY -- Flextronics will lay off 600 workers here, or about 6.7% of its domestic workforce, according to local media reports.

It would be the third such layoff at the site since December for the world's second-largest EMS/contract printed circuit board assembler.

An official with the Zalai County government, József Borsos, told Magyarnarancs.hu that Flextronics planned to layoff the workers, but added the county's labor office has not been informed of the details. Flextronics employs a reported 5,000 workers in the county.

According to reports, Flextronics is cutting the jobs in response to lower Blackberry orders from RIM.
