MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- Google is outsourcing production of its digital eyewear known as Google Glass to Foxconn, according to published reports.
The so-called reality glasses, which are capable of such diverse functions as taking pictures, recording video, sending a message and yes, enhancing one's vision, will be assembled by Foxconn's Santa Clara, CA, plant.
The glasses are expected to retail at nearly $1,500. The production quantities and manufacturing cost per item have not been disclosed.
