MILAN – Flextronics opened a 53,800 sq. ft. medical design center here, according to published reports.

The center provides services to medical industry customers and is ISO 13485 certified.  It provides expertise related to FDA class II and III medical devices, drug delivery devices, medical equipment and disposables.

Staff at the site currently numbers about 200 design engineers, with space for up to 21,500 sq. ft. of engineering labs, say reports.

It also includes rapid prototyping machines, an NPI lab, and a compliance testing metrology area.

Services provided relate to design, program management, industrialization and design transfer.
