Smart Group Conference to Focus on Designs Manufactured in UK

HIGH WYCOMBE, BUCKS, UK – Improving efficiency to win offshore manufacturing business is the focus of the Smart Group's annual European conference.
The event, which includes a tabletop exhibition, will be held Oct. 2-3 in Cornmarket Thame, Oxfordshire, England.
The conference features Gareth Jones, senior manager of Sony's UK Technology Center, who will illustrate how manufacturing business can be won in Europe. As an example, Raspberry Pi is a Sony UK design that was being produced in China but now is made in the UK.
Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized minicomputer that plugs into a TV and a keyboard. The PC is designed to be a low-cost teaching tool for kids to learn programming.
