SANTA CLARA, CA -- PCB West, the Silicon Valley's largest trade show for the printed circuit board industry, opens today at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Pre-show conference registration is up 40% over last year while preregistration for the exhibition is up 30%.

Highlights of this year's show include a three-day technical conference, which runs through Sept. 26; a free day's worth of technical presentations on Sept. 25; and a sold out exhibition featuring more than 80 booths of CAD and CAM software providers, printed circuit board fabricators and EMS companies, and others. Starting on Sept. 26, the IPC Designers Council returns to offer its basic and advanced certification programs.

During the one-day exhibition, on Sept. 25, UP Media Group will also announce the winners of the annual NPI Awards for new products, and the latest inductees to the Dieter W. Bergman Hall of Fame.
