NEW YORK -- Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou says the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer might move its higher-end manufacturing to the US, according to reports.

In New York as part of a trade delegation, Gou said he is considering expanding the company's US holdings to take advantage of its high-tech design research and development.

Gou did not indicate a timeline or amount of any future investment.
