TURGI, SWITZERLAND -- Enics has begun administrative procedures as part of a planned layoff of 25 workers here in response to lower industry demand, the EMS company announced. The layoffs will begin in mid February, following completion of the local consultation procedures.

The site currently employs 220 workers.

The move comes in response to the what Enics called the "changing market environment."

"We are observing that similar adjustments have already been made in the market. Nevertheless, the implementation of these planned measures would be a painful step for us," said Sabina Romagnolo, general manager, Enics Switzerland.
