SAN JOSE — The 90-day moving average orders at North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers rose 20.1% year-over-year to $1.29 billion in February. Bookings were up 0.7% from the revised January figure of $1.28 billion, the SEMI trade group said.
The book-to-bill ratio was 1.0, meaning that $100 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month. It was the fifth straight month the ratio was at 1.0 or higher, generally seen as a sign of an expanding market.
and is 20.1 percent higher than the February 2013 order level of $1.07 billion.
The three-month average worldwide billings was $1.29 billion, up 4.5% over the final January figure and 32.2% higher than February 2013.
