LOS ANGELES – Some of the world's largest component manufacturers are being sued under US antitrust law for allegedly conspiring to set prices.
Chip-Tech on Friday filed suit alleging two dozen companies were involved in a conspiracy to fix prices of aluminum and tantalum electrolytic capacitors.
Panasonic, Hitachi Chemical and Samsung Electro-Mechanics America were among those companies named in the complaint.
Panasonic, Hitachi and Samsung previously were involved in a class action suit in the US involving price fixing of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries from 2002 to 2011.
