MANILA, PHILIPPINES -- Cirtek Electronics today will close its acquisition of privately held Remec, a deal worth some $10 million to $12 million.
After the close, Remec and its subsidiaries will continue to design and market its line of telecommunications products, while Cirtek will manufacture the Remec brand under a long-term contract manufacturing relationship," Cirtek said in a statement.
"Remec’s proven and robust manufacturing and product capabilities, and high level of engineering and technical expertise in the wireless communication industry, complement Cirtek's current competencies in customer- and application-specific IC package," said Jerry Liu, chairman of Cirtek parent CHPC.
CHPC provides assembly, packaging, and testing of semiconductor devices. Its main subsidiaries are CEIC, a seller of ICs, and Cirtek, contract semiconductor assembler and packaging company.
