SIEVI, FINLAND – Scanfil EMS says it is planning for temporary layoffs of 25 to 45 employees at its plant here, for no more than 90 days between Dec. 1 and April 30.

The three-month layoffs are a result of decreased demand by a significant customer, and demand by the same customer postponed until the second half of 2015, the firm says.

A proposal for negotiation was submitted to all employee groups today.

The Sievi plant has approximately 200 employees.
