BANGKOK -- A government agency has restricted access to SVI Public Co.'s fire-wracked factory here for 60 days for safety reasons.

The Department of Industrial Works has banned unauthorized access to the building following a major fire earlier this week.

The factory, located at 141 Moo 5, Tivanon Road in Bangkadi, outside Bangkok, will be renovated, the company announced. In the meantime, production will be brought online in Chaengwattana, pending the delivery and setup of the requisite assembly equipment.

SVI did not have a timeline for bringing the new site online.
