BANNOCKBURN, IL — IPC's chief executive today applauded President Obama's fiscal 2016 budget proposal for its greater emphasis on manufacturing innovation.
Obama's fiscal 2016 budget, released Monday, includes funding to expand the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) and a 5.5% increase from 2015 of $146 billion for research and development initiatives.
In a statement released this morning, IPC president and CEO John Mitchell said, “IPC applauds the President for his commitment to grow advanced manufacturing and increase federal R&D investment, both of which are a critical part of IPC’s Global Policy Framework for 2015.
"Last year, IPC led industry efforts to pass the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act – the legislation that authorized the NNMI. IPC will continue to engage Congress and support full funding for the NNMI and other federal R&D investments that are, not only important for the continued success of IPC’s members and the electronics industry, but essential for American innovation and a strong US economy.”
