NORWALK, OH -- Nordson's Advanced Technology Systems segment first-quarter sales rose 38% over a year ago on higher demand for dispensing products.
Sales were up 29% organically and the remainder from the first year effect of acquisitions.
The company saw strength in mobile device, advanced semiconductor packaging, and other niche electronic end-markets.
Demand also was robust for semi-automated dispensing systems and fluid management components serving electronics, general industrial assembly, and medical end-markets,” said CEO said Michael Hilton.
The segment operating margin was 20% in the quarter, an improvement of 9 percentage points over the previous year, reflecting strong operating leverage on the increased volume.
Nordson is the parent of EFD, Asymtek, Dage and March Systems, among other electronics industry suppliers.
