ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Jabil Circuit reported preliminary fiscal third quarter net revenue of $4.4 billion, up 15% from a year ago.
Net income for the period ended May 31 was $135.4 million, up from a loss of $1.6 million a year ago.
The firm's Diversified Manufacturing Services segment revenue rose 41% to $1.6 billion, while its Electronics Manufacturing Services was up 3% to $2.8 billion due to weaker demand in enterprise and infrastructure end-markets.
"We continue to make great progress as we further diversify our business, and our fiscal third quarter is another good indication that we're executing against our growth strategy," said Mark T. Mondello, chief executive.
Operating income for the quarter was $135.4 million, up from $45.3 million in 2014. Gross margin was 8.6% and net margin was 1.8.% for the period.
"We're on track to deliver approximately 13% revenue growth for this fiscal year, all while continuing to invest for future growth -- quite an accomplishment when one considers the current macro environment," Mondello said.
The firm guided for fiscal fourth quarter revenue of $4.45 billion to $4.65 billion and fiscal 2015 revenue of $17.7 billion to $17.9 billion.
