ZHENGZHOU, CHINA -- A Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing plant here sustained undisclosed damage from a fire that started on its roof, officials said.
No casualties or production impact have been reported by the company. "The fire was brought under control by the fire department shortly after it was reported. There were no injuries associated with this incident and there is no impact on the manufacturing operations of that facility," a company spokesman said in a statement.
Local government reports indicate the fire began in the central air conditioning fan and ventilation ducts, and authorities are said to be investigating the cause.
The site is Foxconn's primary producer of the Apple iPhone.
It's the second known fire at a Foxconn site in two months. A subsidiary of Foxconn's Zeng Ding Technology business in Huaian caught fire in December.
