SAN JOSE – Preliminary December bookings at North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers rose 33% year-over-year and reversed a four months of decline.

$1.52 billion in orders in December on a three-month average basis, up 7% sequentially, the trade group SEMI said.
The compamy's revenue reached NT$218.4 billion in 2006. About 75% came from sales of notebook PCs. The compamy estimates shipments will rise to 11 million from 10 million this year.
Wistron also shipped 600,000 handheld units in 2006, and expects to more than double that to 1.3 million units in 2007.
