TORONTO, ON – Celestica reported second quarter revenue of $1.56 billion, up 5% year-over-year.
For the period ended June 30, net earnings were $34.4 million, a decrease of 5% compared to the second quarter of 2016.
"Celestica delivered strong revenue in the second quarter, representing another consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth," said Rob Mionis, Celestica's president and CEO. "As we enter the second half of the year, we intend to continue to invest in ramping new programs and in higher margin services, such as our Joint Design and Manufacturing offering, to help deliver strategic value to our customers."
Revenue from the Communications end market increased 14% year-over-year, representing 44% of total revenue, compared to 41% of total revenue for the second quarter of 2016. Revenue from the Advanced Technology Solutions end market decreased 3% compared to the second quarter of 2016, representing 31% of total revenue, compared to 33% of total revenue for the same period last year.
For the six months ended June 30, revenue was $3.03 billion, up 6.7% year-over-year. Net earnings were $57.2 million, down 7.4%.
For the quarter ending Sept. 30, Celestica anticipates revenue in the range of $1.5 billion to $1.6 billion.
