TORONTO -- Celestica Inc. has acquired CoreSim, a Canadian-based provider of advanced design analysis and redesign services. CoreSim will strengthen Celestica's design services by adding intellectual property, including its engineering tools and processes for electronic design projects. CoreSim currently provides services to some of the world's leading OEMs.
CoreSim will offer its proprietary tool, Schematic Modeling, that identifies wiring and technology issues in schematics. It provides design analysis which independently verifies and validates pre-layout customer designs to assist in keeping engineering projects on-time and within budget.Offers rapid design verification to reduce costly design respins; produce well-margined designs that are 'right the first time'; reduce errors in schematic capture; facilitate custom verification; and shorten the overall development process.
For existing products, CoreSim's design services include complex hardware cost reduction, or component obsolescence retargeting, without software changes. The company also offers System Integrity Analysis, Board Static Timing Analysis, Real Time System Vector Capture and Hardware Modeling.
"Our unique design tools and processes, combined with Celestica's existing design capabilities, expertise in supply chain management and end-to-end manufacturing services, will provide OEM customers with a truly differentiated and competitive offering," said Jim Whiteside, chief technology officer, CoreSim.
