BRUSSELS – The European Union has set forth the maximum concentration values for materials restricted under the pending RoHS directive.

The EC established a maximum concentration value of 0.1 % by weight in homogeneous materials for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

It further set a limit of 0.01 % by weight in homogeneous materials for cadmium.

This decision is effective July 1, 2006.
