VANCOUVER -- Nam Tai Electronics' attempt to take two of its subsidiaries private has fallen short, the company said today.

Separately, the EMS firm reported a monthly sales record of $83 million in November, up $3 million from October.
Nam Tai said it failed to garner the necessary 90% of public shares floated to privatize the two subsidiaries by the closing date.

The subsidiaries, Nam Tai Electronic & Electrical Products Ltd. and J.I.C. Technology Company Ltd., are listed in on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Both will maintain listing status.

As of the closing date, Nam Tai had received valid acceptances for 69.81% of the public float shares of NTEEP and 79.31% of the shares of JIC, respectively.
