ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Jabil Circuit is finalizing a previously announced deal to acquire handset case maker Taiwan Green Point Enterprises Co. Ltd. for $871 million, the companies said Jan. 15.
As of Jan. 12, Jabil had acquired about 261 million shares of stock, or 97.6% of Taiwan Green Point's outstanding shares. The total amount paid for the tendered shares was approximately $US 871 million, based on current exchange rates.

Jabil plans to acquire the remaining Taiwan Green Point shares through the merger of Taiwan Green Point into Jabil's wholly-owned subsidiary per a Nov. 22 merger agreement.
