Jabil Forms Consumer Division

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Jabil Circuit Inc. will establish a consumer electronics division, the company reported.
Its board of directors approved a plan to divide a portion of Jabil's business, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The consumer division will address mobility (cellphones and mobile products), connected displays (TVs), set-top boxes and peripheral products, said Jabil.
John P. Lovato, who has been with Jabil for 17 years, was named executive vice president and chief executive officer, consumer division.
The EMS division will continue to focus on traditional and emerging EMS business sectors. Emerging sectors include areas such as automotive, medical, industrial, instrumentation, defense and aerospace.
William D. Muir, a 15-year Jabil vet, will head the EMS division as executive vice president and chief executive officer, reported the company.
All changes are effective Sept. 1.
