POINTE CLAIRE, QUEBEC -- EMS provider Triton Electronik will acquire Positron Technologies for an undisclosed sum, according to the Canadian Press. The combined company will have sales of more than C$140 million, the report stated.
Kirkland, Quebec-based Positron is insolvent, the report stated. However, the company, which operates from a 180,000 sq. ft. plant in Kirkland, has 250 employees and generates annual revenues of about C$60 million.

"In a context of increased Asian competition and a rising Canadian dollar, the Positron acquisition marks the emergence of a stronger Canadian player with the critical mass required to become the leading mid-size CDM provider in Eastern North America within the next three years," Triton president and CEO Daniel Blanche said in a statement.

After the deal closes, Triton will have four offices and factories and more than 700 staff.
