ELKHART, IN -- CTS Corp. today said it will shut down a factory in Berne, IN, and relocate production to another in-state facility and to Mexico
and Singapore this year. The company will take restructuring charges of $4.5 million to $5.5 million.
In a press release, CTS said the moves would save it $5.5 million a year.
The company said it will move its automotive product operations at Berne to its
facilities in Matamoros, Mexico, and Elkhart, IN. The company will
move its electronic parts operations in Berne to Singapore.
Some related service functions would stay in Berne, CTS said.
The
Berne facility employs 160 workers, the majority of whom will lose their jobs.
CTS said it expects pretax annual savings of $4.5 million to $5.5
million.
