VANCOUVER – Brio Technology Co., the North American arm of
Brio Technology Ltd., a Beijing-based EMS company, will move into a new 130,000 sq. ft. building in next month.
Within the new facility, which spans eight floors, one floor is slated for prototype and preproduction runs.
The firm forecasts 2006 revenue of $100
million, due in part to increased demand from
BOE and
Pioneer, two of its major customers. BOE, which contracts the build of its LCD driver boards to
Brio, this month increased its orders to 500,000 units per month.
Brio has added eight new Panasonic SMT lines to meet the increasing orders. By March, the company
expects to have 24 SMT lines.
Meanwhile, the company’s NPI center in Vancouver has produced several
successes since its opening last spring.
Brio handled NPI work for a
mobile computer for a Vancouver based company. Hardware and software
integration is underway, and a successful launch could lead to orders
of one million units from Southeast Asian countries later this year.
Also, an NPI program from a Washington-based company that makes
off-road recreational products will lead to steady orders worth some $2
million in 2006.
