VELIKO TURNOVO, BULGARIA -- SVA Group, a top Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, opened its first plant in Europe. The factory will build televisions and has capacity to produce over 100,000 sets per year.
The company has to date invested more than $1.1 million on its four lines, and will spend another $700,000 to add another line, according to published reports.
SVA's annual sales from electronics products exceeds $5 billion.
The company has plants in China, Pakistan, South Africa, Argentina and
Australia.
The new factory employs more than 30 workers.
