Ametek to acquire Gatan for $925M

BERWYN, PA – Ametek has agreed to acquire Gatan from Roper Technologies for $925 million in cash.
Gatan makes instrumentation and software for electron microscopes and has annual sales of about $180 million.
The company will become part of Ametek's electronic instruments group.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
