MILPITAS, CA — Worldwide semiconductor equipment manufacturers posted third-quarter billings of $14.9 billion, down 6% year-over-year, according to the trade group that compiles the statistics.

Billings were up 12% sequentially in the quarter ended Sept. 30, added SEMI.

Data are gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from more than 80 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
