CHENNAI -- Salcomp has acquired an idle 30,000 sq. m. (323,000 sq. ft.) electronics manufacturing facility in India from Jabil.

Salcomp, an ODM based in Salo, Finland, paid a reported Rs 42 crore for the plant. It now has four sites in Nokia's special economic zone in Chennai, totaling a reported 80% of the 1 million sq. ft. SEZ.

Salcomp has been growing by acquisition in India, having also bought plants from Nokia, LiteOn-Mobile, and Laird Tech over the past few years. It also has sites in Shenzhen and Guigang, China, and Manaus, Brazil.

Salcomp is one of the world's largest suppliers of power supplies for mobile devices.
