AUKPARA, BANGLADESH -- Symphony Mobile has begun small-scale printed circuit board assembly for mobile phones here, making it the second domestic manufacturer of PCBs in the country.
The new factory will employ 2,000 workers, the company said.
Symphony said the 67,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant takes up multiple floors and will produce phones, chargers, headphones and cables, and eventually displays.
In a press release, the company said initial production will involve assembly of about 200,000 PCBs per month.
Walton, a manufacturer of TVs and mobile phones, said in October it would launch of a factory to produce PCBs.
