NOIDA, INDIA -- Padget Electronics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dixon Technologies, has signed an agreement to manufacture Motorola smartphones in India.
According to reports, Dixon CEO Atul Lall has previously revealed the company plans to make 70 to 80 million smartphones per year in the next few years.
Padget is one of five Indian manufacturers that have been approved to receive benefits of the government’s new production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for smartphones. Others include Lava, Sojo Manufacturing Services, Optiemus Electronic and Bhagwati (Micromax).
