Expected growth is attributed to reduced interconnection complexity, improved performance, reduced package footprints, improved component tolerance and output, and better flexibility. The adoption rate of IPDs in smart consumer wearables, IoT and AI-enabled devices, and infotainment and navigation systems in automobiles is forecast to increase.

The incorporation of IPDs system will facilitate manufacturers of automobiles and consumer electronics devices to lessen the overall cost and gain small footprint packages, says the firm.

Government investments are expected to boost the adoption of IPD systems in vehicle components. Per the European Commission, Gestamp will receive a loan of €200 million for research into the production of lighter, safer, and environmentally friendly cars, for example.

IPDs with filters and diplexers are used in frequency bands and lumped-element circuits for the purpose of impedance matching. Diplexers are used in GPS, antennas, cellular infrastructures like 2G, 3G and LTE, automotive telematics, IoT applications and frontend modules of wireless base stations. In 2019, diplexers accounted for 15% of industry share. This is expected to grow because of 5G communication systems and the telecommunication industry.

Electrostatic discharge/electromagnetic interference accounted for more than 40% market share in 2019, and the forecast is a more than 8% CAGR by 2026. IPDs with ESD/EMI offer flexible designs. ESD/EMI IPDs help improve signal reception and stop transmission loss.

The automotive sector had more than 17% market share in 2019 and will experience a record CAGR of over 8% in the forecast period as a result of IPDs in car electronics for wireless communication purposes.
