TOKYO – SIIX Corp. reported fiscal fourth quarter revenue of 52.9 billion yen, down 2.4% year-over-year. For the quarter ended Mar. 31, Japan’s largest EMS company said operating profit rose 67% to 1.5 billion yen.
Like most Japanese companies, SIIX’s fiscal year ends Mar. 31. For the year, the company’s revenue fell 18.6% to 181.5 billion yen. Net income dropped by more than half, to 36.5 billion yen.
SIIX said the decline was broad-based. For the year, automotive-related electronics demand plunged nearly 13% to 98.4 billion yen. Automotive is the firm’s largest market, at 54% of its overall sales. Home appliance was down 38% to 22.9 billion yen. IT was down nearly 6 billion yen to 16.3 billion yen, and industrial was off 4 billion yen, to 34.5 billion yen.
SIIX guided for fiscal 2021 sales of 120.6 billion yen, up 15% from last year but still behind fiscal 2019.
