TAIPEI – Foxconn reported record May consolidated revenue of NT$455 billion (US$16.4 billion), up 17.6% year-over-year, down 9.1% sequentially.
The combined revenue of the first five months of 2021 was NT$2.3 trillion, up 35.4% compared to the same period in 2020, also a record high.
Growth was driven by sales in consumer electronics, including cellphones, wearable devices and game consoles. Also, computer-related end products increased sales on a monthly basis, with demand for the latest Apple iPad and Mac devices.
The company is expected to continue to grow sales in the second quarter as a result of the iPhone 12, say analysts.
Production capacity has reportedly experienced limited impact from materials shortages and the Covid-19 pandemic.
