NEOM, SAUDI ARABIA – Foxconn is in talks with Saudi Arabia to build a $9 billion foundry here to produce microchips, electric vehicle components and other electronics, according to reports.
Foxconn’s proposed offer is for a dual-line semiconductor contract manufacturing facility, which Saudi Arabia is currently reviewing.
Foxconn is also discussing the option with the United Arab Emirates. Riyadh reportedly wants a guarantee Foxconn would aim at least two-thirds of production into its existing supply chain.
