BANNOCKBURN, IL — The 90-day moving average shipments by North American electronics manufacturing services companies rose 1.7% in year-over-year in February and ticked up 0.2% over the previous month.

Year-to-date shipments are down 0.4% year-over-year, added IPC, which tracks the data.

Bookings fell 3.6% year-over-year in February while increasing 8.6% from the previous month. Year to date are down 2.6%.

The book-to-bill ratio rose for the third straight month, up 60 basis points to 1.33.

The ratio is calculated by dividing the value of orders booked over the past 90 days by the value of sales billed during the same period from companies in IPC’s survey sample. A ratio above 1.0 is considered an indicator of future growth.

“The EMS sector saw a pickup in bookings in the last month, bringing the strongest book-to-bill ratio since May 2024,” said Shawn DuBravac, IPC’s chief economist. “While year-to-date trends remain down for 2025, demand continues at a robust pace.”
