ATLANTA, GA – The Electronic Components Industry Association reported a sharp improvement in sales confidence across the electronics component industry in December, according to the latest results from its Industry Pulse: Electronic Component Trends and Sentiment survey.

The overall index score reached 134.0, exceeding expectations by nearly 33 points, while overall sentiment rose more than four points to 138.3. ECIA said the results marked a clear shift from the prior two surveys, which showed strong confidence in current conditions followed by a steep drop in expectations for the following month.

Chief analyst Dale Ford said the December survey broke that pattern, pointing to renewed confidence as the industry moves into early 2026. He noted that participants no longer showed the same collapse in forward-looking sales expectations that had weighed on earlier sentiment readings.
