IRVINE, CA – Ellsworth Adhesives has relocated its Western Region Distribution Center to a larger facility here.
The new location brings improved floor stocking capabilities, and an increase in hazardous and cold storage areas, with more than triple the space of the company’s previous location. It serves as a distribution portal globally.
Ellsworth Adhesives distributes specialty chemicals and equipment.
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Private equity firm Guardian Capital Partners and certain incumbent managers have acquired a controlling interest in electronics manufacturing services firm R&D Circuits.
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL – Electronic services manufacturer SigmaTron International today reported fourth-quarter revenues were $38.5 million, up 10% year-over-year.
Fourth-quarter net income was $279,000, down 84% compared to the same period last year.
Revenues were $151.7 million for fiscal 2011, up 23.9% compared to 2010. Net income for the year fell 13% to $1.98 million.
“While our revenue for the fourth quarter versus the third quarter was modestly up, fully diluted earnings were flat. We have seen pricing pressures from both customers and vendors that have continued to squeeze our margins. Our fourth quarter results are continuing evidence of those pressures that we expect to see for at least the balance of this calendar year,” said Gary R. Fairhead, president and CEO.
“We successfully relocated our California operation from Hayward to Union City. The new plant layout has increased our productivity and has assisted in attracting interest from many new customers, including some in the aviation, defense, and medical markets.
“We are continuing to work on methods to reduce our inventory levels and we expect to start seeing positive results from that in the second quarter of fiscal 2012.”

SAN FRANCISCO – Semiconductor equipment sales will grow more than 12% this year to $44.33 billion, according to mid-year SEMI projections.
THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN – Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corp. reported second-quarter sales were up 7% year-over-year, “thanks in part to our developing customer base in European, Middle Eastern and Asian countries,” according to Mark Larson, president and COO.
“This year European sales in particular have increased by over 22%.”
Digi-Key’s second-quarter sales in Germany rose more than 25% compared to last year, and in Italy, sales grew nearly 16% compared to the same quarter in 2010.
In a move to be more environmentally friendly, Digi-Key recently ceased the distribution of its more than 2,900-page print catalog.
