Speedprint Technologies will use the APEX Expo to promote its range of screen printer platforms that address solder paste printing and dispensing for boards and substrates from the very small to the very large. With the addition of two large board printers in the past year, Speedprint now offers a comprehensive product portfolio to address any surface mount application.

For processing smaller boards, Speedprint’s SP210 printer is ideal. With its compact footprint, the SP210 is a popular option for manufacturers switching up to fully automatic in-line screen printing from manual or semi-automated systems. Typically, it requires no more floor space. The SP210 accommodates boards as small as 25mm x 50mm in size.

At the other end of the Speedprint spectrum, the new SP1550 is specifically designed for large boards up to 1550mm (61 inches) in length. It uses four fiducials to optimise alignment accuracy across the large board surface area – a factor that becomes more critical with long PCBs. The SP1550 will be running demonstrations on Speedprint’s APEX booth #1733.

Sitting between the SP210 and SP1550 are the acclaimed SP700 and SP710 models, and the company’s new SP1220 long board printer. The SP710 optionally adds in-printer dispensing functionality to the ‘workhorse’ SP700 automatic in-line machine by integrating the company’s unique, dual-head ADu+ (Automatic Dispense Unit). This allows adhesive or extra solder paste to be dispensed in the printer during the printing process, providing added flexibility and opportunities to improve productivity. The SP710 can also be equipped with Speedprint’s award-winning S-Track integrated barcode label feeder technology that provides traceability from the very start of the SMT assembly process.

The SP1220 is the smaller sibling of the SP1550. It accommodates boards up to 1220mm (48 inches) in length and presents a slightly smaller footprint to give manufacturers a further option. Like the SP1550, it delivers print accuracy of 12.5µm at 6-sigma and includes built-in 2D+ SPI inspection technology.

“With our portfolio of printer platforms now complete, manufacturers have a variety of Speedprint options to address every surface mount screen printing application,” claims Mark Brawley, President of Speedprint. “In addition, we offer unique productivity and traceability-enhancing options in the form of in-printer dispensing and barcode label feeding. But perhaps best of all is our 5-year warranty on every printer. That demonstrates our confidence in the build quality and performance of our products and remains unmatched in the industry.”

Visitors to the APEX Expo can see Speedprint printers on Booth #1733. The exhibition takes place at the San Diego Convention Center and runs from 29 to 31 January 2019.
