NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., September 2022 — BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics manufacturing market, today announced that ZTE Corporation operates more than 100 BTU reflow ovens at its state-of-the-art facilities in Shenzhen, Nanjing and Heyuan. A global leader in telecommunications and information technology, ZTE relies on BTU’s Energy Pilot Software to reduce energy consumption.

The customer chose 50 units at its sites in Shenzhen, Nanjing and Heyuan for its trial with the Energy Pilot Software. During this preliminary trial, BTU helped ZTE to use Standby mode only. With BTU’s support, ZTE saw power consumption savings of approximately 40 percent. ZTE representatives attribute this success to the strong collaboration between ZTE and BTU.

“The reduction in electrical power usage as a result of the implementation of the Energy Pilot software has not only saved us money, but it has allowed us to reach our sustainability goals,” said Chen Jun, Senior Engineer, ZTE Corporation. “BTU is an important partner for us as we continue to focus on operational efficiency.”

“Enabling our customers’ success has always been our key objective,” said Joe Yang, Sr. Product Manager for BTU International. “We are pleased that the Energy Pilot feature, that’s included in all Pyramax systems, has made such a significant impact on ZTE’s operations.”

ZTE uses communication technologies to help people in different areas enjoy equal freedom of communication. The company follows the mantra, “innovation, integration and green” throughout the entire product lifecycle as well as the whole process of R&D, production, logistics and customer service. ZTE makes unremitting efforts to achieve global energy consumption reduction and carbon emission reduction.

ENERGY PILOT is a feature of BTU’s windows-based WINCON™ operating system that is designed to reduce the consumption of electrical power and process gas. The ENERGY PILOT software helps ZTE reduce energy consumption whenever the ovens are idle. Standby mode can save more than 25 percent. Sleep mode can be used for longer interruptions saving more than 40 percent. Long idle periods fully shut down the oven using hibernate mode.

Founded in 1985 and listed on both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges, ZTE has been committed to providing innovative technologies and integrated solutions for global operators, government and enterprise, and consumers from more than 160 countries across the globe.
