ST. LOUIS -- BAE Systems awarded LaBarge a $2.7 million contract to continue producing the Ethernet switch unit for the A3 Bradley combat systems vehicles.

The ESUs are routers and switches that make local forwarding decisions to devices operated by the vehicle's local area network.

LaBarge has manufactured the ESU since 2001.

The company said production should begin in December and continue through September 2009 at its Huntsville, AK, facility.
